As someone who has recently worked as a limo driver with Argo, I want to shed light on an important issue that many customers might not be aware of. When you book a ride, a gratuity of 20-22% is added to your travel charges. Naturally, you might assume that this goes directly to the driver as a tip for providing excellent service. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The gratuity collected is not passed on to drivers—it’s instead used by the company to cover our base pay. Essentially, what is presented to customers as a “tip” never reaches the drivers at all. This practice not only misleads customers but also undermines the hard work of the drivers. Furthermore, there are consistent delays in paying employees, which reflects poorly on the company’s ethics and respect for its workers. While the business itself may offer reliable services, I urge customers to be mindful of who they choose to support. If you want to ensure your driver receives fair compensation for their efforts, consider tipping directly or asking about company policies beforehand. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
