I like Dr. Barnes as a person but overall it feels like he doesn't always know what he's talking about. He put my dog on fluoxetine for anxiety, but after a few days on it she had very small appetite. When I talked to him about this, he said this wasn't a side affect of the medication and was caused by something else. But when I took my dog a different vet, they said that's very common. Last year my dog had to loose weight so Dr. Barnes told me how much food to give her. But it was way too little, and when my boyfriend (an engineer, who does math for a living) looked at Dr. Barnes calculations he found a way different number. After putting her on the calories my boyfriend found, she lost the weight needed. Not sure why Dr. Barnes has gotten so much wrong with my dog when appointments are about $100 each.
Dr. Barnes and his staff are great. He is a fair and honest vet who is in it for the animal and what's best for them and us as owners.
Amazing staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Barnes was extremely friendly and is very passionate about what he does. He offered great advice and explained everything in an easy to understand manner. He even discussed a step by step to ensure the best care without breaking the bank. Highly recommend.

We have been seeing Dr. Rooks at Barnes Vet for years. A recent experience prompted me to write a review. One of our dogs has severe fear and anxiety at the vet. She recently broke a nail, and was clearly in pain. I called Dr. Rooks, who knows our dog really well and the challenges she experiences at vet visits. She got us in same day, and the level of care and comfort she provided our dog was incredible. Because of her care our dog was feeling better immediately. This is consistently the case - she and her team always show compassion towards our dog - which when you have a dog who has challenges at the vet is so appreciated. I cannot recommend Dr. Rooks enough!
