I had a great experience at Community Auto Repair thanks to their fantastic front desk service from Alyssa. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. They were quick to assess my needs, explained everything clearly, and gave me an accurate estimate for the work. The front desk team was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease, answering all my questions without hesitation. They even followed up with me after my service was complete, ensuring everything was to my satisfaction. Great customer service and a smooth experience overall!

It's sad for me to write this but to protect other people I feel I must. I was so stoked when I found community auto repair. I needed a front headlight changed. A spot down the street quoted me $130 - Community Auto Repair said they'd do it for free (no labor charge, only parts) I ended up getting an oil change, light fixed, and tires rotated for $130 instead. Fabulous. Then a month later my car got hit while parked, I took it to them. They worked it out with my insurance, talked me through my concerns, and my car turned out great. Month later I hear a noise while driving and take it in. Turns out it's the bearings and they verbally quoted me $1500 - $2500 (not sure why the $1000 difference). I left and got quotes from other mechanics at around $800 total for both bearings. I love a local spot - but definitely won't be coming back here. As a woman it's hard to trust mechanics and they just lost my business moving forward.

They always do whats best for my car. Fair and courteous, I trust their recommendations. It’s always a good sign to see women quoting service, it shows that the company respects women. It makes my girlfriend feel comfortable that she can come in without me and not get ripped off. Community Auto Repair takes care of its community.

I brought my car in because the check engine light was on, and this shop told me I had a leaky head gasket. They quoted me $4,000 for just that repair—not even including the long list of other things they claimed needed fixing. On top of that, they told me I’d be better off selling the car. Something felt off, so I got a second opinion—and then a third. Every single other mechanic I spoke to said there’s nothing wrong with my head gasket. I almost spent $4,000 for absolutely no reason. What makes this worse is that I spent over $3,000 here last year. Now I’m seriously questioning what work was even done. I trusted this shop with my car and my money, and now I just feel taken advantage of. Get a second opinion before you let them do anything.

DO NOT TRUST THE GOOD REVIEWS Had an awful experience with CAR. Took my car in for diagnostics, when I noticed their price estimates were a bit steep I asked to talk to someone about it. When I went into the shop, my car wasn't there, they had moved it 20 min away to their "other location" - I did not give permission for my car to be moved. When I got to my car I was told by one of the mechanics that "I don't have time to talk about this, are you paying up or not." To which I said, "I'm asking about item numbers to ensure transparency/a fair price". He then became hostile and aggressive telling me I should just "trust" him - and that "you wouldn't ask a restaurant what they put in your food" (incredibly stupid analogy) I took my car to Karmachanics (in Englewood, highly recommend!) instead and they charged me LESS THAN HALF what CAR would have charged me. GO TO KARMACHANICS INSTEAD
